Product Description
Winding Twig (Вьюнок) Teapot. In Russia, tea traditionally is served with the help of two teapots, one large and one small. This, the larger 9-cup teapot, holds the hot water, while a smaller 3-cup teapot holds a strong brew. The two would be mixed together to taste. As Russians like to drink tea much of the day a weak brew is preferred. This finely decorated large teapot from the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg, Russia is the genuine article! Not a Chinese knock-off! Cobalt, 22Kt gold. 7½" in height, 10" wide and 6" deep. 1 only.
Winding Twig is the name given to the bindweed or morning glory family of herbs, trees and shrubs. The Latin name for these plants is "to wind" (family Convolvulaceae). Additional 22Kt gold florets and gold enhanced embellishments create a teapot of delicate beauty and Old World elegance.
